Illinois Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 30 hours are required every two years, due by March 31 of even-numbered years. At least 12 hours must be certified continuing education offered by an approved optometry school or college. The remaining 18 hours may be regular continuing education, including practice management, but all continuing education must be completed through live, synchronous instruction. A maximum of 4 hours may be in practice management. Licensees must submit proof of completion with their renewal application and are subject to audit.
