Michigan Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 40 hours are required every two years, due by the license expiration date. A minimum of 2 hours must be in pain and symptom management related to the practice of optometry. A maximum of 9 hours may be in practice management. Optometrists certified to administer topical ocular diagnostic pharmaceutical agents or to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents must complete at least 20 hours in pharmacological management of ocular conditions and must hold a current CPR certificate from an approved provider.

Michigan accepts 20 hours in online continuing education courses. Licensees must retain documentation and submit proof if audited.
