Below are details about optometry continuing education and license renewal in Indiana.

Indiana Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 20 hours are required every two years, due by March 31 of every even-numbered year. 38 hours must be directly related to the practice of optometry, including clinical and professional optometric education, and 2 hours may be in medical charting, billing and coding, health care compliance, or compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Indiana accepts 10 hours in approved online continuing education courses. Licensees must submit proof of completion with their renewal application and are subject to audit. 

First Time Renewals: Licensees initially licensed between April 1 of an even-numbered year and March 31 of the following odd-numbered year are required to obtain 10 hours of continuing education for the initial renewal. 

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the Indiana Optometry Board.
