Below are details about optometry continuing education and license renewal in Montana.

Montana Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 36 hours are required every two years, due by July 1. Up to 4 hours may be in practice management.

Montana accepts 12 hours in online continuing education courses. Licensees must maintain certificates of completion.

New Licensee Renewals: Continuing education requirements do not apply until a licensee’s first full year of licensure. Continuing education must then be completed in subsequent reporting periods as required. 

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the Montana Board of Optometry.
