Below are details about optometry continuing education and license renewal in Ohio.

Ohio Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 50 hours are required every two years, due by the license end date. A minimum of 20 hours must be in the study of pharmacology. Up to 16 hours are allowed in grand rounds or surgery observation, 6 hours in Public Health, and 4 hours in Practice Management or Ethics/Jurisprudence.

Ohio accepts all 50 hours in approved online continuing education courses. Licensee must attest completion on state board forms and are subject to audit. 

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the Ohio Vision Professionals Board.
