North Dakota Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 40 hours are required every two years, due by December 31. At least 20 hours must be in therapeutic treatment and management of eye disease. A maximum of 6 hours may be in practice management. Licensees must maintain current CPR certification and will receive one hour of continuing education credit per year for maintaining CPR.

North Dakota accepts 16 hours in online continuing education courses. Licensees must record CE hours in OE Tracker, and must retain documentation for audit.

New Licensee Renewals: Optometrists first licensed by the Board in an odd-numbered year need not submit CE proof at their first renewal if licensed during that first year; optometrists first licensed in an even-numbered year must submit 20 hours of CE at their first renewal.

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the North Dakota State Board of Optometry. We automatically report your CE hours to OE Tracker.
