Below are details about optometry continuing education and license renewal in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Optometry Continuing Education Requirements:
30 hours are required every two years, due by November 30. Of those 30 hours, optometrists certified to prescribe and administer pharmaceutical agents for therapeutic purposes must complete at least 6 hours in courses related to pharmaceuticals, and those certified to treat glaucoma must complete at least 4 hours in glaucoma-related education (which may also count toward the pharmaceutical requirement). 

Pennsylvania accepts 15 hours in approved online continuing education courses. Licensees must maintain documentation of completed CE and are subject to audit.

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the Pennsylvania State Board of Optometry.
