Below are details about optometry continuing education and license renewal in Maine.

Maine Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 25 hours are required each year, due by March 31. A maximum of 2 hours may be in practice management. Optometrists who hold an advanced therapeutic license must ensure that at least 15 hours pertain to the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases.

Maine accepts all 25 hours in online continuing education courses. Licensees must submit proof of completion with their renewal application and are subject to audit. 

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the Maine State Board of Optometry.
