Below are details about optometry continuing education and license renewal in Delaware.

Delaware Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 30 hours are required every two years, due by June 30 of odd-numbered years. Of the 30 required hours, 20 hours must be in therapeutics and management of ocular disease and a maximum of 6 hours may be in practice management. Non-therapeutically licensed optometrists must complete 12 hours of continuing education every two years.

Delaware accepts all 30 hours in COPE-approved online continuing education courses. Licensees must submit proof of completion with their renewal application and are subject to audit. 

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the Delaware Board of Examiners in Optometry.
