Mississippi Optometry Continuing Education Requirements: 20 hours of continuing education are required each year, due by December 31. 10 hours must be in therapeutic treatment of the eye/eyelids and 2 hours must be in CPR, which is split across the two-year period. PEP certified optometrists must include 6 hours of primary eyecare procedures content as part of their 20-hour requirement.

Mississippi accepts 12 hours in online continuing education courses. Licensees must retain documentation of completed CE and provide it when requested by the Board.

New Licensee Renewals: New licensees must complete the full annual continuing education requirement for the calendar year in which they renew.

Access Optometry is accredited by COPE to provide continuing education for optometrists. These courses are accepted for optometry license renewal by the Mississippi State Board of Optometry.
