Australia Optometry Continuing Professional Development Requirements: Optometrists registered with the Optometry Board of Australia must complete a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) during each annual registration cycle, including specific requirements in therapeutic prescribing for endorsed optometrists and a minimum number of interactive CPD hours. The Board does not pre-approve individual CPD providers; instead, practitioners are responsible for selecting activities that are relevant to their scope of practice and that support clinical competence, patient safety, and evidence-based care. Optometrists must also maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification as part of their registration standards.

15 hours of CPD may be completed through online CE courses.
